What should I pay for an M416?

I found an M416 trailer near by for sale, and I'm wondering what I should be willing to pay for it. It has been painted poorly, and the hitch was switched over to a 2" ball. I can't really tell how good of shape the sheet metal is in because of the poor paint job. The guy is asking $750 for it. Is this realistic, or is he way too high? Thanks

If it's in great condition, I've seen them for $1500. Most of the ones I've seen under 1k have some rust.

Re: What should I pay for an M416?

I feel its too high, but I don't know the market in Alaska.

In the lower 48, it would probably go for $500 or so. I've sold two fully restored ones for $1,000 and $1,200.

Watch eBay for sample prices.

Re: What should I pay for an M416?

Disclaimer: I've never bought anything through this site, but it may be worth checking out. I've been casually shopping here in CO for an M101A, which is from what I understand an improved version of the M416. I searched for "trailer" and "Alaska" and it puked out a fairly substantial list o' trailers. Buy two and send one to me as a finders fee! Check it out:

Re: What should I pay for an M416?

considering they sold for nothing a few years ago at auction, and were terribly abused by the US Military for 20 or so years, if it looks bad, then offer accordingly. there are parts out there you can find, I would say 500 at the most
