I have these AT sport king tires. there a cheap all terrain tire and i was low on money @ the time. Now i take it to the garage, they say the tires are Out of Round and are unable to be balanced. I drive literally over 100 miles a day and i need a good tire cuz i do sooo much highway traveling. I need to know what would be a somewhat quiet but a little agressive tire. I am torn between BF Goodrich ATKO's / Nitto Terra Grappler's or Toyo open country ATs. What woulddo the best for me if i do 90% highway 10% off road. thanks and please give me some of your opinions!!!:rocker:

The OFFICIAL 6inch vs 3inch lift debate

First off, i want to first declare that i love all lifted fjs, i think the three inch lift looks sick and love to see them wheel. I run the RC 6 inch lift. My reason; after watching fjs with the three inch lift go through the battered ruins of the rubicon gate keaper and first part of the rubicon trail. There was alot of rock stacking, and scraping of skid plates and rock sliders with the 3 inchers. I then watched an FJ with a 6 inch lift and 35s go through with much less scraping and no rock stacking. Its my opinion but would take a 6 inch lift over a 3 inch lift out on the trails anytime. And yes i know the center of gravity is higher with the 6 inch lift, but most guys run wheel spacers to compensate.

I hope i didnt offend anybody, like i said, i love all lifted fjs, im just tired of guys telling newbies that 6 inch lifts arent neccasary, because i dissagree.

I've done the black out on my mirrors, handles, bumper extensions, grill, bumper trim, and wheels. The grill i made out of the rear badges and i chose a dark gray metallic instead of flat black. Enjoy! and no that's not the radiator behind the grill it's the intercooler for the supercharger so i can't paint it black.

I know that plenty of people have ordered, installed and been happy. LandCruiserSteve was the one who put it best and was the reason I ordered one as well.

Pull pieces out of the 2 boxes and you know you know you've got a quality shipment if nothing else. Not a single part missing and not a single scratch or dent. I've never had any other aftermarket rack so I have no comparison.

I took off the factory rack, being very careful with the dreaded captive nuts. Then I assembled the new rack, in minutes, put new brackets on and looked around for this "friend" the directions refer to. Well, it's 2:30 on a Thursday so the friends I do have that are local aren't available. My one "friend" came home early from work and caught me installing more parts. She didn't want to help either. So I thought..."...what would Tom Hanks do?"

To my best guess and measurement, the Baja Rack is only 1/4" taller than OEM.

Luckily, the FJ still fits in the garage. I have about 1" to spare...in other words, I think I can still enter at 20 MPH and not hit.

Hi,

I'm thinking of purchasing a hybrid suspension kit from metaltech. Anyone out there that can help with installation? I have some basic hand tools but no spring compressor. I do know of a shop with a lift which I could rent if needed. Any takers?? This won't happen right away since I still need to get the funds together for the kit.

Thanks!
