New to fj's and forums. Bought my new fj two weeks ago. I think it's love! Having built up my first truck ('82 Toyota) back in the day, this is a really fun mid-life crisis. I also had a '91 4-runner for 7 years and am sorry I ever sold it. The '02 Tundra has been great since then, but....I love the fj. I'm simply painting the silver bits right now, but getting stared on a custom rack and sliders next week!

Maybe I'll list the stock rack for sale here. I wonder if there are any others here in the western Oregon area??? I don't know the trails well. . . Yet!

Any recommendations on the best time of year to go, where to stay, ect.? I've never been ocean fishing so as far as fish go I really don't care what I catch, I'm just going for the experience .
My tread on the stock tires is about gone and I need to replace them.
As much as I would love all terrains or mudders I can't just yet.
This is my only vehicle and the sole purpose is for driving my kids around so I want the safest, most traction for the street and wet weather, so I will go with the same type of all seasons.
What is a low price, decent quality tire given these requirements?

One day I will lift e FJ and put some real tires on but for now I need a stock replacement.

      Valve
Bike Pump
Air Pressure Measuring Device
Staun Tyre Deflators

I used the same method as you would normally use, adjusting till I got the pressure I wanted, but with a more convenient method of using a bike tire. In the end pressure is still pressure, and it worked. I did get a little tired of pumping the tire back up but without an air compressor, but it got the job done.

Got the truck and put a 3" lift. It's been driving great, turns on a dime, no sway very stable. I put 285's on yesterday, and now I am very disappointed. I turn wheel back and forth and the thing feels like a station wagon! Feels, like it's swaying back and forth. I didn't think and inch would make that much difference, it didn't in my truck when I got 35's. Now I was on Man A Fre site last night and it said replacing the UA with their ball joint UA's would give you a much better ride again. How much of this is true? I can't imagine going off reading with it so unresponsive like it is. It's all been aligned, so I don't know what else to do? I'm getting an ARB bumper put on Friday which now really worries me and how it's going to respond!!
Suggestions that arnt a fortune?
