I am starting this new thread to discuss the location only if we can organize such an event.

Thunder Bay, ON - I beleive would be the most central. (At least for the first one.) Google maps returned 3,000km from Vancouver and 2,800km from Halifax.

So, I would think we could concentrate a search in that general area +/- 100-200 km.

Start posting your feed back. I think others may be actually involved in organizing the event, but I thought I would start the specific discussion on WHERE so we do not lose momuntum on the idea.

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

4WDABC - Four Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia (http://www.4wdabc.ca/web/index.htm)

I'm probably going to be leading the 4WDABC run on Saturday if anyone in the Vancouver Lower Mainland area is interested.

This event occurs on the 2nd Saturday of each month and we meet at the Sasquatch Inn (9:30am) for a 10:00 (SHARP!) departure.

I've yet to be on a run with another 4th gen so hopefully someone will show up cause it's not always a Jeep Thing! :rocker:

Whaddaya say Canucks? I say we go for it. We will of course make it open to anyone with a passion for FJ's, just as our friends south of the 49th have been so welcoming to us.

I was thinking about how much fun I've had at the two summits I've attended, and realized I've probably seen more of the US than I have of my own country! Anyone wanna get together and have a good family oriented, FJ obsessed time North of the 49th?

Any good places to wheel in Saskatchewan or Manitoba, close to a tourist town that can accommodate a large amount of people and vehicles with blindspots? A central location would be my first choice.

If not, we could do a West Coast event one year, and East Coast the year after, or vice versa. We'll move it around so we can see different parts of Canada, eh?

I don't mind doing a bunch of legwork, but there is no way I can do it alone. If we decide some FJ'ers wouldn't mind driving to Beautiful BC for round one, I would dedicate my time to driving some trails out of any one of the tourist towns to set up some trail runs. Sounds like grueling work to me!

I also don't mind talking to resorts etc, if it means we can make a go of this.

We need ideas! Who would come? Where should we go?! When?! Bad idea? Let's hear it!
