Well I finally took my FJ off pavement. Nothing to write home about, but I did run it in 4Hi for about 5 miles just to get the fluids going. My wife & I went to White Oak Mountain Wildlife Management Area in south central VA yesterday. It was a nice day with a few hiking trails but no off roading allowed. But this is the first time I have even had a chance to run my FJ on dirt roads for any distance. Going to Rockvember Fest this coming weekend in The Uwharrie National Forest in NC. I will be doing some wheeling there.
By the way she performed flawlessly LOL.

This will be the second annual 4X4 gathering in the Turkey Bay OHV park in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area near Paducah, KY. Plans are kinda loose at this time. Plan to meet and camp in the OHV area Friday evening and run trails Sat/Sun. If you search this section there was lots of details posted on the 1st Annual Run one year ago. This run has something for everyone from easy beginner to a couple of hard core rock gardens. More info will follow as interest is shown.

We have a sticky at the beginning of this forum that warns us all of the "perils" of traveling and enjoying Mexico..whether that be Baja or the Mainland
So, my question is why is there not a sticky for most US metropolitan downtown areas?
Would you travel thru the bad parts of LA enroute to Disneyland...thru the bad parts of Miami to ge to the beach

so...who amongst our FJ friends here in the blue room has:
A) actually traveled to Mexico via FJ Cruiser
B) had a great time
C) would do it again
D) had a terrible time and will not EVER go back

just curious

Building an offroad "park" ??

I have the opportunity to purchase approximately 80 acres of wooded land in 3 parcels. It is located near campgrounds, cabins, fishing and a state park for starters.

Its fairly remote in Ohio, yet easily accessed from VA, WV, PA.

Looking at topographic maps there is an area with steep 100ft inclines, and there is an area with a spring (thinking mudhole?)

Most all of the "free" offroading spots in my area/Ohio have been closed, reclaimed, posted etc. I can pick this property up for an affordable price and am wondering where I could find info/advice on laying out some exciting trails?

Since two parcels are seperated by a 2 lane state route, I am thinking of keepin quads in their own area away from the bigger stuff.

I have some copies of the releases used by other similar sites and will run them through legal scrutiny....

Any thoughts, input, experience at other offroad parks etc is appreciated...
