FabFours rear bumper wish list

Some features I'd like to see on the FabFours rear bumper which is being prototyped:
1. user-interchangeable equipment carriers: the user can bolt on two tire carriers or one tire carrier and one fuel can carrier, etc...
2. integrated steps on the corners of the bumper (similar to your design for the full size trucks)
3. provision for rear fog light mount
4. provision for relocating rear license plate
5. provision for rear camera mount and factory back up sensor

Other bolt-on option: would be great if a ladder can be bolted onto the four mounting points for the factory spare tire bracket since this bracket would be removed when used with an aftermarket bumper with spare tire(s) carrier.

My .02.

A hitch will most likely be included in the bumper.
Thong, I will give these questions/features to our
designers & engineers and have them see what they
can do for the rear.

Re: FabFours rear bumper wish list

The only thing I have a hard time with on the FabFours rear bumper was the way it went up on the sides. Now what I would really like to see is someone come up with a diamond plate cover for the rear sides and the bottom door panels. I like it to look more similar to some of the older classic FJs. I would be the first one in line to get one in a black diamond plate for my Titanium FJ!

Re: FabFours rear bumper wish list

Alright I will se if I can answer some of these questions.

1. The rear bumper WILL have a reciever hitch standard.
2. It will also relocate the license plate to the driver side, Also standard.
3. Interchangable rack system, this is a very interesting idea that has never crossed my mind. Feasibility is definately there, the only question is would the production volume we need there?
4. Provision for rear backup sensors, we will be looking into this.
5. Back up camera options, another hard one since there are many aftermarket camera's for different systems. This is something that again might be hard to work into our large production runs. But again if the #'s are there anything is possible.
6. Bolt on ladder where the door mounted tire mount was, this again is a great idea and very doable on our end. However I would let the rack genius' at GOBI tackle that one first if they wanted.

Ahh the "Tread Plate" Debacle. Tread Plate just isn't our thing, and it will most likely never find its way to a Fab Fours Product. Unless it is demanded by enough people! See Above!

I love this input please keep the sugestions coming!

RJ:
the backup camera can be mounted on a simple bracket on the spare tire mount using a small camera like this one

BTW, it's way cool to be able to talk to the design engr.

Re: FabFours rear bumper wish list

When your talking about an interchangabel rack system you should search over on yotatech. I believe that sonoran steel did one that had two recievers incoporated and had racks and such that slid into the recievers.

Re: FabFours rear bumper wish list

How about spot to exit exhaust pipe out rear, I dont like how the stock pipe curls back down below the bumper and have seen one ripped off when a guy had to back his FJ up out of some ruts...Id rather have it stay high and exit straight out of the bumper. I love the prototype of the rear bumper and cant wait to get one myself.

Great idea! Would like to have option of having two round holes which can be used to route exhaust(s) and/or rear fog light or back up light.
