Slash JL amps don't run hot... they have a regulated, intelligent power supply that delivers the same output from 1.5 to 4 ohms. Unlike the old red Orion amps that could fry and egg when wired at 1 ohm.
JL amps do run very hot. they claim to put out the same amount of power at 1.5-4 ohms, but in reality, they create a lot more heat at lower ohms. in a short amount of time they will heat up, and in turn reduce power to avoid shutting off in thermal protection. the slash series are happier running at 4 ohms, versus two. i know, i have had two 300/2's, a 250/1, a 1000/1, and two 500/1's

Re: JL Audio FJ StealthBox plus

I don't see why people like JL...they seem to over price pretty much everything. Alpine costs pretty much the same, and is much better, Kicker costs MUCH less, and is MUCH better as well, (also hits a lot harder) I just don't see all the hype with JL's subs, but I do hear they make excellent amps...but how do those stack up against Rockfords\Alpine\Kicker etc?
JL = Decent brand, but over charges big time.

Re: JL Audio FJ StealthBox plus

I sent you a PM on this. I went to the JL site and they are still showing it as not available yet.
