Re: Welcome To FJ Cruiser Audio

Very nice looking boxes and racks. The price seems comparable to custom work.

Are there any other products in the works?

Re: Welcome To FJ Cruiser Audio

The Alpine PDX amplifiers are great, as are the Type R subwoofers. The glass work is great. The amplifiers are designed to be stacked, and run very cool. If you have ever done a glass enclosure and amplifier rack, you know that $399.00 and $599.00 is very reasonable. With proper fit and finish, it takes a ton of time. Give em a break. Business 101 or 102 whatever. Run a stereo store in the season and see how much time you have to spare.
Again, nicely done.

Re: Welcome To FJ Cruiser Audio

what ever i have been to world finals and I never paid that much for a custom box I have done fiberglass, moldings, painting, vinyl, control mods etc I just think that you would be better of starting with a better price considering the volume you could sell or sell 1 at 599.00 a year, I will agree and say it does take time.

Re: Welcome To FJ Cruiser Audio

It really doesn't matter if you sell 1000 of them if you are losing money on them. Break down the labor and material costs and they are close to break even. 8 Hours labor @ say $65.00 per hour, add in materials and that $599 is eaten up quick. Profit is not a dirty word, who here works for free? Lights, rent, insurance and now figure out what that enclosure really costs to build.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a good deal, but these are not generic enclosures. Custom work is not cheap anywhere you go if it's worth a damn. Not only that, consider the time that went into the prototype, they don't fall together.
Since you have a background in custom work, price is no object, you can build your own!!

"what ever i have been to world finals and I never paid that much for a custom box "

Isn't a box square?

Where do they hold the world finals anyway?
