COBRA 19DX IV CB & 4' FIRESTIK: Installation w/ pics

To read the original full thread and post questions/comments on this topic, please go to CB install (Cobra 19DX IV & 4' firestik)lots of pics!!

Got a Cobra CB & Bandi mount for X-mas. The install was very easy. The Bandi mount made the antenna install a breeze. I mounted the CB in the center console between the seats. Here are some pics.
The first is looking up into the Bandi at the cable connection.

The bandi mount itself is very easy to install, the hole for the bolt is already there. The plastic hinge cover comes off with ease.

I used 18' cable with molded ends. This made it a little harder to get it threw the rubber seal(size wise). I had to take it off the wall and open up the plastic ring underneath the rubber seal than put it back again. This was really not bad, it went back together alright.

I use a piece of TV cable as a fishing device to get the CB cable threw the side wall to the back seat area. there is a small opening down low that the cable fit threw. Then just tucked the cable under the plastic wall and floor next to the rear seat.

Now the cable is coming out down at the door threshold.

The door threshold comes up by pulling straight up. I did break off one tab at the very front. Under the door threshold there is lots of room for the cable and some clips to place the cable in.

The front kick panel comes off by pulling it back towards the seats. I didn't remove it just pulled it out enough to get the cable threw.

Routing the cable under the dash is easy. To get to the center console. I first had the pull it out. It popped up by pulling up just behind the E-brake handle. Than there's a little panel in front of the E-brake that needs to be remove and the 4wd knob needs to be removed, than pull back a little, and it lifts off.

Next step was getting the cable from under the dash to the center console. I pulled the kick panel out next to the gas petal, didn't remove it just pull it out a little. Again I used the TV cable as a fish. It took a few tries but I got the cable threw.

Then fished the cable threw the console up to the center storage area. I also pull the 12V in the same way, from the fuse box. Drilled a hole in the storage box for the cable and 12V.

Finally mounted the bracket for the CB by just using # 10 sheet metal screws right into the plastic. Which is pretty thick, And the CB is pretty light.

So thats it. Can't wait to use it out on the trail.
