Yes indeed. a few more details like: which garmin model is it, performance factors, turn by turn?, can we load topo maps to it? and other factors that I am sure others will ask.

Thanks!

The unit that comes with the docking station is the Garmin Quest 2:

Garmin: Quest 2

The docking station replaces the storage compartment in the dash. The unit pops up when you want to use it and then folds away neatly while not in use. The GPS unit runs off of the vehicle battery with the supplied wiring kit that comes with the unit.

Awesome. Thanks for the detail/info. I am not a fan of losing anymore stowage space. Certainly a suction cup mount would suffice, no? Are FJs already set up for wiring?

Thanks!

I find that storage spaces in my vehicles become places to store crap that I should have thrown away but thought that I better hold on to it because I may need it one day...mainly like receipts! Basically, they fill with junk! So the less storage compartments = less crap in my rig!

Sorry, the photo in this thread is a Press Release photo. I don't have install pics. I have took it out of the package and looked at it. It is a simple panel replacement...installation should be a breeze!

Re: FJ Cruiser Garmin Portable GPS Navigation System NOW AVAILABLE!

Another option we can do is just the docking station and wiring harness for $399.00. For those of you who may already have the GPS.

Re: FJ Cruiser Garmin Portable GPS Navigation System NOW AVAILABLE!

I will admit that I know little to nothing about GPS units, but after reading about the possibilities with the Quest 2, it sounds pretty cool. The city stuff is all well and good, but the fact that you can download Topo info is what I really want...Being able to plot a route, set waypoints and POI's of your own would be great (if it can do all of that too).
