I know they state it will go right into the stock air breather setup. I am running the TRD CAI, I will just fab it up into the CAI box. In the past, I had one on my 85 Toy pickup 4x4, they give you the snorkel along with a silocone sleeve, then tie in to your breather box using PVC pipe, etc. Since the FJ breather is right at the fender wall, I'm sure they made it to fit right in the stock. You will have to fab up the connection in to a TRD CAI Box. Now with that being said, if you have the URD CAI, your in for alot more work, the bottom of their box is all open. You will have to close that off somehow, then fab in to the snorkel. I hope this helps

This may be a dumb question, but how does this handle bugs, bees, etc? Do they collect on the air filter? or for highway driving do you turn it around and then loose the ram effect?

No you leave it facing forward, anything would collect outside your air filter as normal.
