This thread has been superseded by my thread "Green Swamp Camping\Wheeling 1/3/12 - 1/5/12"
My son and I are thinking about going to Green Swamp for some camping and doing some wheeling around Richloam and potentially Croom for a few days during the week of 1/2/12. There is also a bit of a no-mans-land called Rancho we may be able to hit that has lots of mud, sand, hills, etc. for playing (it's nice during the week, but gets crazy during weekends). Note this is during the week, but the timing works out perfectly for me to get away for a few days. Please note that Green Swamp is not as wet or swampy as you may think. I've researched online and there are quite a few high and dry campgrounds that are free.
I was thinking about going for 2 nights sometime during the week of 1/2/12 (anytime from 1/2 to 1/6). I'm pretty flexible, so wanted to leave it open if it would help someone else's schedule. I would prefer earlier in the week, but no big deal.
I'd like to get an idea of how many would like to go so I can make reservations (camping is free, you just need a reservation from SWFWD).
Just let me know It would be great to get a group together.

I am pretty sure the "Green Swamp" does NOT allow vehicle traffic, especially on the west side. So you might want to check to be sure.
I have been in the "Green Swamp" East side ONCE and it was during special hunting season and it was not anything like Richloam. They had real roads, no side trails and LEOs checking all the time, and at the entrances and exits.
