The local Photo Gallery can be used to host images that you and others can access via your username. These images can also be “inserted” into your posts (see below). If you host your images on the Forum itself, you do NOT need to host your photos with a third-party (i.e., smugmug, photobucket, etc.). Each user is allotted a limited amount of file space for storing photos, but you should be able to host as many as 150 reasonably sized photos (see below). If you are looking for an easier way to insert photos and don’t mind the “thumbnail” format, click here:
http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...our-posts.html. Here is the procedure for using the Gallery:
1) Make sure that you have a reasonably-sized picture on your hard drive before you begin. The Photo Gallery allows a photo size of up to 1,000k, but I suggest you size your images to 800x600, which should yield a file size of less than 100k for most photos and image re-sizing programs (like Irfanview, Photoshop, and Microsoft Picture Manager). For an easy way to resize photos using WinXP, see here:
http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...al-photos.html.
2) Upload the photos to the Photo Gallery by clicking on the “Photo Gallery” link on the main navigation bar. Next, click on the “Upload Photos” link on the far right-hand side of the secondary navigation bar. Click on one of the “Browse” buttons and locate the picture on your hard drive. Repeat until done. Finally, click on the “Upload/Submit” button. Done!
(Stop here if all you wanted to do was post an image to the gallery.)
3) If you want to insert the image into a post, you will need to locate, copy and paste the new location of the on-line image into the post. The easiest way to do this is probably to open a new internet explorer window: one page showing your post and one page showing your photo gallery. To locate the stored image location, go back to your photo gallery by clicking the “Photo Gallery” link on the main menu, then the “My Photos” link on the far left-hand side of the secondary navigation bar. Then, click on the small photo (thumbnail) of the picture you want in your post. Once the larger picture is displayed, right-click the picture and select “Properties”. Highlight the “Address (URL)” field (whatever is displayed after "http://..."), right-click it and select “copy”.
4) Now, toggle back to the window where you have started your post. Click on the “Insert Image” tool (it is a yellow button with what look like mountains on it -

). Next, paste the URL link from the prior step into the box that pops up.
Advanced Users: The button simply inserts image tags around the URL for the picture: "[IMG]URL[/IMG]". See also
here.
5) Repeat as needed.
Note: If you are using a third-party hosting service, you can still follow steps 3-5 for inserting photos – you will just need to figure out how to locate the URL for your photo from the particular service, then cut and paste as described.
