Everything I need to know I learned in kindergarten, but I had help from SS.

By the time i remember seeing Sesame Street, over friends houses, i already knew what they were trying to teach, so i thought if you watched SS you must be stupid! I lost respect for some of my friends at that time!
But i liked it for my kids, but they were much younger, toddler age when they started to watch it, not grade school age. They did have an older child version out for many years, the Electric Company, i think thats what they called it, i did like some of that. my .02
oh never got spammed by Einstien either!

Elecric Company ! Morgan freeman, Bill Cosby. I remember that show it was great. It was always on before SS. At least where I grew up.
