I gave... It hurts to know it all was a big waste
of time !... A poll would have been nice to see
what the majority wanted, but then again, this
is not a public forum and we have no say here !...

To me it didn't matter either way. The rep points were pointless.

I don't miss rep as I never found it an accurate gauge in terms of deciding on whether a person is a valuable contributor or not. I do wonder if we can have a "shout box" though. I think that may serve a similar purpose but won't become a distraction.
