Sidebar and how to turn it off if you want.

As some of you may have noticed, many pages on the site now have the sidebar. Some may like it, some may not, but you have total control over it showing up or not.

If you want to turn it off, simply go to your User CP, click on Edit Profile and scroll down to the bottom and set the "Sidebar" to "Disabled"... and no more sidebar

Here is a direct link to your "Edit Profile" screen:

Cool.
Thanks for the instructions... and the link.
I could not get rid of this new feature f-a-s-t enough.
I appreciate that y'all allowed us to control this...

Re: Sidebar and how to turn it off if you want.

give me some admin i will shut off all the links and adds on the left also.. drives me nuts and takes up space i only look at the ads on top of pages anyway. i don't need no stinkin other garbage on the left except the buddy list is very handy. the only way i can get rid of all the stuff on the left is add everyone online to my buddy list it pushes all that down.. thx rant over

Re: Sidebar and how to turn it off if you want.

Huh, I noticed something was wrong too after this upgrade (usable space decreased and Ads increased), but couldn't figure it out. Thanks for pointing this out. I guess I'll figure it out, but I wonder if turning off the side bar also loses the useful information.
