Re: now this site is slleeoooooooooww

The site has slowed tremendously just in the last hour or so. I'm getting blank pages every now and again. Best thing to do is to just upgrade wherever you are using (i.e. browser, plugin's, etc) and wait. Toyotanation, IH8MUD and others are behaving about the same for me.
This too shall pass.. (i.e. sys admin motto/mantra).. Ron

Now this is odd, I downloaded the firefox at home and still slow as heck but at work, using an old version of IE on windows 2000 it's super fast. WTFIGO??

Re: now this site is slleeoooooooooww

IE, super slow
Safari, super slow
Firefox, super slow
Firefox with No Script and all scripts blocked, speed is back but I lose a number of the applications.

This started in advance of the web site up-date/grade.

What is really winding me up now is that I've waited since the day after the WetOkole group buy ended last year to get in on this one, now I can not send a PM to join (it's not registering in the "sent" folder but maybe it sent?). And I've tried without using No Script and waiting on the slow load times so I have no idea if the damn thing went through. If I miss this GB I'm ganna be pissed!

Re: now this site is slleeoooooooooww

My computers at home still load the blue top banner immediately, then take, I kid you not, 55 seconds to load the rest of the page....every page. I run Kaspersky but it's turned off. The Windows firewall is also disabled. At work the blue banner loads immediately, followed by the rest of the page about 2-3 seconds later. I only play on the site from work now.

Re: now this site is slleeoooooooooww

This site is so slow, I have time to count the grass blades inbetween page loads. The blue banner loads and then like 30-40 seconds later I get the thread. And I'm on a Ghz network Lan. This all started after the new update of the forum.

Re: now this site is slleeoooooooooww

I dunno, seems like nobody cares. Kinda crappy, just go back to the basic site, the pretty checkmarks and quote boxes are nowhere near worth the trade off. I seriously used to be on this site all the time checkin things out, chattin with folks and exchanging good info. Now i can't do that. I actually dread coming here and I only do so about twice a day now and only check to see if I have any responses to my posts. anything els is far too time consuming. what used to take me 10 minutes to check about 20 or 30 posts now can take over an hour. No thanks. I hope it's fixed soon but until then I'll be on the socal site. Later.

Down below the message window under "miscellaneous options" make sure you have a check mark in the box "Save a copy of this message in your sent items folder" otherwise it won't save a copy anymore.

I'd think the advitisers would?

But I agree as much as I hate to, I'm thinking about giving this site up.

It's rather selfish of me but I kinda wish this problem would have affected the 3000 posts in 6 months crew that resides here. Might have had the issue fixed by now?

Re: now this site is slleeoooooooooww

It's not that nobody cares. I think that the admins that made the changes are having a difficult time putting a finger on a fix. Try to be patient, and sorry for the issues. It seems to only be affecting some.
