Hi there. I suggest you visit the NorCal section of the forum. There are quite a few members in the Norcal section. There are trail events posted all the time. You may want to join up with them. Since this is your first off road vehicle, it's a good idea to hang around those with experience to get you acquainted first before you head out by yourself. Socal will be hosting a Meet and Greet on 4/19 (see SoCal section) and if you're around, you're certainly welcomed to attend. We'll hit a trail after the event. It's hosted by TRD Source (Claremont Toyota) and there will be some discounts as well as lunch at the event.

thanks Fjamming, you've pointed me in the right direction, and as far as off roading, i'll defibetly find me some buds to show me the ropes.

You're welcome. There are a couple of very good DVDs to watch before you head out. Getting Prepared and Getting Unstuck.. Both were made by Bill Burke. Start to look into some recovery equipment and learn how to use them because sooner or later you may need them. When you need them, you should have them instead of having to ask to borrow someone's.

Have fun!

My advise would be to definitely do the meet and greet thing! You will meet some really cool folks that have the same interest as you do AND you will learn a thing or too. I learn something new everytime the Hurricanes get together!!! We share our talents and share our knowledge!

Welcome aboard!!!
