That is good as it helps ppl know what area their state is considered in on the forum, so you dont have ppl in "border" states in two seperate regions. Now if each region had a sub section for each state it would be great. Its kind of a chicken and egg thing. a lot of ppl probably dont post in the regional section because it is too broad and too easy to lose your post and isnt divided. I think that subdividing it inside each region would increase traffic. I know I'd post there then, as it is I skip right over it usually because there is no point in going there with the way it is setup.
The more populated areas shouldnt get more specific sections, they are more populated but in the exact same geographic region and seperated by very little difference. The areas that have large geographic regions that have places thousands of miles apart in the same region should get more specific sections, its a regional listing, not a population chart. If I live in Miami and am grouped with ppl in Tampa, yeah its alot of ppl but not too far apart, so wheeling together is very likely. However I live in southern Indiana and am listed with people in Nebraska and Iowa and Kansas....the chances I will drive over 12 hours to go wheel with them are slim to none, so why group us together?
This was just a suggestion...and a quick list at that. It was to make FJ owners have a chance to have a open forum within their local community. I could have made subforums for every city, in every state but I did it quickly and just thought I'd share the idea.
As far as population goes...the number of people on the forum will grow and the "local forums" will get cluttered rather fast, the idea of having a sub section of certain states was to prevent this clutter as I have seen it on almost every forum I've been on. I, personally am not going to waste my time scrounging through posts in a "southeast" forum to find what I'm looking for. Good thing the amount of action in the regional forums is slim to none so it's not difficult at the moment.
Rather than giving me a geography lesson, why don't you adjust the sections that I "suggested" a little more to every area in the country. Not being a smart@ss...well maybe a little

I was scammed by member "vlocci" please avoid him at all costs. Paid $400 for a roof rack and only received 4 cross bars...had to purchase a new one from toyotapartsoutlet.com. ended up spending over $840 to get a complete rack on my ride.
whoops...posts were made in between me starting to write a post and a phone call...lol

since the term "regional" is geographic in nature, than talking about the geographic layouts of the current regions is logical. But anyway, we all agree that splitting the regions into sub groups would be good, for more than one reason.
Miss FJ, when saying that it might happen if more ppl use them is like saying we will pave a gravel road when more ppl start driving on it. Like I said before, its a chicken and egg thing. One has to come first, if it has to be more traffic from the users, who arent using it because its WAY too broad then its never going to happen. Would be nice if it was the people running the forum that said " hey, lets make this a little easier to connect with ppl in your area so we can get more use out of this part of the forum that is kind of sitting and wasting away." Then again, it still might not get much use, who knows??? cant hurt to try though. I know I would use it if it was broken down better. But listing the states in it like you did in the post earlier is a great start, at least it cuts the confusion that can happen if your not sure what region your state is considered.
Anyway that is my rant for the umm morning (night for me, just got off work) Sorry if I offended anyone no harm meant. Just seems to me something that is very simple and logical is getting blown way out of proportion and argued over a little too much.

I do. It's a 2005, got it when they first came out (like the S2K...guess I can't wait when it comes to a good thing!). I loved my S2K and miss it--except when I'm in the Elise Both are great cars and similar in many respects. I was actually thinking of buying a yellow '02 (I like the SP1 body styles a little better) for a daily, but probably won't 'cause I'm hoping to get my hands on a Masi Grandsport. But first, I gotta get my FJ! (Can't take the Elise off roads!)
And to keep at bay any accusers of hijacking, here's a suggestion: a page listing all members.
