Slow Load Time Fix!

I keep seeing this come up so I thought I would post this up for though's who don't know.

All right if this site and any other site on the net are loading slow for you I have the fix. First we need to understand why its taking so long to load. Images are the biggest cause of this whether there pictures in a thread of adds on the web page. Here on Toyota FJ Cruiser Community you can become a supporting member and one of the perks to this is less adds, that would mean faster page load times. The problem with that is you still will be slow on other sites. So how do we fix this.

First thing to do.
install Mozilla Firefox, you can download it from here --> Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable

Second thing to do.
Stop using Internet Explorer!!!

Third thing to do.
Before you do start surfing the web you might want to check out the add-ons. You can find them all here. --> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

This is the one you really want Adblock Plus but you might find some other you would like.

Ok guys I don't want to here any more crying about adds and slow load times if it is still slow that means its time to upgrade your Internet connections its 2008 so ditch the 56k connection. I hope this helps some of you that are slow if not sorry for wasting your time.

O here is a side by side of what it looks like FF on the left IE on the right (i logged out so that being a supporting member didn't effect the adds)

I used Firefox for several years after it first came out, but eventually had to stop using it because a number of financial services sites that use didn't support it and only supported IE. Yeah, I could use IE for those sites and FF for this and other forums, but to me that's too much trouble. Actually, after disabling IntelliText and the sidebars, IE runs fast enough for me here.

So, I don't have to change anything.

Re: Slow Load Time Fix!

I just added FF to my old 286, 8Mhz with dual 5.25" drives and a 150 meg hard drive running windows 3.1 and dos 6.2. Whoa is this computer screaming now. I can't believe it is as fast as my 486 running Windows 95. Even with my 14.4K modem it is fast. Now all I need to do is install a 128K modem and get a ISDN line and I should be set. I hear the phone company is gonna be bringing DSL at 768kbps to the neighborhood like in a year or 2. I can't wait. I wonder what that kind of speed will be like.

Ive always used Foxfire and never had any issues here. Plus since switching form IE to Firefox I never get crashes while surfing. Everyone should use Firefox!!!
