Re: PRICING INFO FOR NEW PEOPLE.... (vehicle & accessory)

Why is it, when you buy a package, it's a lot more than the cost of buying everything seperate?

Re: PRICING INFO FOR NEW PEOPLE.... (vehicle & accessory)

side note... you should try and tell your dealer you want cost on all accessories because that is where they can give a deal since you are buying at msrp.

Sure.

"cost", "dealer", "FJ"....all in the same sentence.

The concept works for me, but I have this feeling that's not going to happen very often with a new highly anticipated car coming in limited quantities and with every review saying it's gonna be a hottie.......

If/when it does happen, I'm quite sure it will quickly makes it way to the FJForum though. My guess: just not for a while. Unless Cali is fax negotiating <s>

It's that expensive packaging they use.

Re: PRICING INFO FOR NEW PEOPLE.... (vehicle & accessory)

It is only one arm rest, the driver's side is standard.

You guys are looking at the wrong price.

The arm rest's MSRP is $109 plus labor for install. The dealer's cost is $65.

All Weather mats:

4 mats: MSRP $99, Invoice: $60
Cargo Mat: MSRP $79, Invoice $50

Rear Door Storage: MSRP $59 Plus Labor, Invoice: $35

First Aid Kit: MSRP $29, Invoice $17.50

Total: MSRP $375 Plus labor for rear door storage and arm rest (if you use a min labor charge of 1/2 hour at $90 an hour = $45), Invoice: $227.50

VS. Port Installed Price for the Z2 package $432

If you compare invoice to invoice:

Dealer: $227.50 plus labor
Port: $266 (labor included)

Don't get me wrong, these are the types of things anyone can do for themselves but the savings isn't that substantial.
