Today we take the rear tire off of the Z and go to Discount Tire to find out why shes leaking air. I pull in to the parking lot trying to find a parking spot and I see a fire lane with dirt screaming my name to park there, so I slowly turn left and my man dan says jessa watch out, so I look in the mirriors and there is a car, backing up on my side on the rear section of the truck. I dont even have time to blow the cute factory horn (Which I am soo changing to a train horn now) before the idiot hits me. Dan is flaming smoke out of his ears, he swings the passenger door open and I say "HEY KEEP COOL", It ends up a discount tire, young, associate is driving the vehilce. It was a grand prix so low to the ground compared to my high truck, HOW DO YOU MISS ME, I kept asking myself. We are looking over the FJ and thankfully dont notice anything, he hit the tire and the rim! We go to the Grand Am and the driver side back bumper has this huge black mark and in there reverse light hole is a crack, the manager comes out in like 1 minute and comes right to us, Is your truck ok? Yeah, he hit the tire. He says you ok, Yeah were fine. He says, ok you can go if you want, You sure we ask? Yeah go ahead...Right then the owners of the car come walking out the door and I look up, and leave....
Thankfully I had a high truck compared to the grand am....Still I was laughing cause how the HECK can you miss our truck! This thing is freaking huge...
I wait 5 months to get it, drive it 2 weeks, have 800 miles on her and shes in her first accident...No damage...other wise I would have the idiot!!

you know, there's a good part of this...the no damage part. Maybe that's a sign that she's charmed and will spend her life without being damaged. Hope so anyway....good for you (and the FJ)

When I read the header on the forum list, I thought: "Nooooooo!! That poor girl, waiting so long for her FJ and now this?!"
But so happy to hear that no injuries to you or your car.
My favorite SUV accident was in a different truck:
I stop at a stop sign. Woman in back doesn't quite gauge her distance. I feel a thump. Get out and look over my truck. It's fine. Look over at her. She has coffee spilled on her shirt and she was on her cell phone saying "I'll have to call you back."
Her car had a dented hood and a nice long black streak to match.
I said, "Looks like everything's fine [in reference to my vehicle]"
She said, "for your car..."
I couldn't help snickering.

That's one of the things I love about my FJ. However, when I get hit, especially rear ended, no matter how slight the damage, I get insurance info from the driver, make a claim against their insurance and have the vehicle checked outby the dealer. Most people will not learn otherwise.
