Saw some interesting options this weekend.

I am in NC and so undert he thumb of SE Toyota distributors who often do many PIO and DIO's to jack up the stickers of Toyota's and Lexus (Lexi??)

My local dealer has 2 FJ's right now- one (blue 4x4) had BBS 17's and Pirelli Scorpion's and the other-a black 4x2 has a bling pakage with polished 18's,chrome side steps, continetal street tires and Borla dual exhaust- The borla duals are pretty interesting. It seems difficult to get a Toyota in the SE with the actual option packages advertised by Toyota. You have to fight it out with the dealer and special order. Slightly OT but SE Toyota is owned by Jim Moran who is on mega yacht #11- they are all called " Gallant Lady" and are always docked in Ft Laud- I lived there about 12 years ago-quite a boat- I guess you can make a lot of cash importing Toyotas!

Yeah, we had to order our's to get it the way we wanted it. The salesmen try to get you to take what they have on the lot. Those bling 18" wheel and tire packages are a joke imho.

Re: Saw some interesting options this weekend.

Go to Leith in Raleigh if you are in NC. They found the exact FJ I wanted, with convenience package + side air bags and WITHOUT Toyoguard (VIN etching, undercoat -- $699.00!!!!). This was a few months ago when the FJ was a really hot item. Took them about 3 days to get it.

Mark Jacobsen in Durham wouldn't switch the BBS / Pirelli's out for the steelies -- the manager there was a real a$$ with a "take it or leave it" attitude. I'm happy to report the FJ I wanted is still sitting there 3 months later. I had the same issues with Fred Anderson Toyota, although they also tried to rob me on my trade (I know you should never trade a car, but their offer was downright offensive).

BTW, I don't work at Leith, don't have any relationship with them at all. Heck, I don't even live in Raleigh. Just a satisfied customer.
