FJ's in New York City

Just returned from NYC last night and ran into about 6 FJ's around the city. Two of them on the West Side Hwy at 42nd street on Monday around 2pm. One was a company car, Black Diamond with some logo's but couldn't get the website. Something like Mobilepro.com. The other was a Sun Fusion like mine.

Are these FJ's anyones on the forum?

Boy, that central park is some kick butt 'wheelin-ponds to ford and all. If I lived in NYC, I would go for a mini, I think

Re: FJ's in New York City

I just rented a mini this past week. Acutally it was a zip-car, not sure if you know about them at all. It's pretty cool. It's a company that has cars located all over the city. You can rent one online for an hour or for a whole day. It tells you where the car is located and you hold your zip card to the window and the doors unlock and the keys are inside. It cost me 8 dollars an hour or 60 a day. Gas, Insurance and everything else is included in the price. They have a credit card in the car for gas that you use. It's really easy if you live in the city and don't want to spend $800 bucks a month on your parking spot and need a car once and awhile.

Cab's are not to bad. They start at 2 bucks and around 35 cents 1/5 mile which is about 4 blocks or so plus tip. That's for your regular taxi. Livery drivers will charge a flat rate depending on where your going and they drive lincoln town cars.

I've heard of the zip-car thing. What a great idea! No going to a big parking lot at the airport to get your car. I wish I had thought of it. I haven't been to NYC in a while but what a great place. I would probably kill myself or someone if I drove there though

Man that Zip car thing is really cool. I wonder if they have GPS in them to see just how badly they abused. A friend has a mini and it will surprise you when you hit the gas.

No GPS, but they all have xm radio in them. I loved the mini, it was really cool and had some kick to it. I was thinking of getting one and I could put it in the back of my FJ, it just might fit!
