I've carried both. Out in boonies the expanded floor makes a good cleaning platform up off the ground if you don't have a tree hanger, and especially if you can get to running water. I carry big, thick (3mil) drum liners in my Trasharoo to haul the pieces/parts back to 'civilization'.

Last sow we had wasn't too big, but it was a good eating size. This was after we pulled it off my cargo carrier and tossed it up onto a friend's tailgate...

Got a winch? Run the winch line over, for instance, a tree mounted pulley to the back of your rig (or fab a way to run it back over your roof - I've seen that done on a Landcruiser), hoist the deer up for cleaning, drop onto tarp or something, bundle/package, hoist again, into trunk space, onto roof, etc.
I use mine for deer and turkey. i have a hitch mount basket that works very well... i modified mine so when i go into the cooilies it doesn't hang up on anything... and modify i mean crudley made a new mounting bracket... but it works
