Just repeating a couple of questions from before:

1. When a collision occurs, where does the damage get transmitted to? Do the fenders buckle, or do they deform the much softer body (the same way bull bars might)?

2. Why so expensive?
I saw thees on a rig a couple of weekends ago for Cruzin the Woods. They got hung up on something and tore the hell out of the sheet metal front and back. We are talking thousands of dollars in repair bills here. From the looks of it, if the flares were Bushwackers or stock, the flares would have torn off leaving a lot less damage to the vehicle. There needs to be some serious reinforcement of the metal flares or some sort of tear-away system like velcro or nylon bolts to allow them to break away before transmitting damage to the body.

I didn't know you made it out! I only saw these on BillyBongo's truck, but they were still intact. I was curious about these too, but might not be anymore.

Which rig were they on?

I can't remember his name. He was the promoter of the event? The FJ was in the middle of the campsite parking lot around lunch time. The whole left side was tore up (including the mirror).

That was Bill's silver then. He had done that previously I think. That's why it looked normal to me lol.

Did you make any of the runs?

I ran about a bit but had to head back to the shop. Weekend got overbooked.

Talked to his wife about the damage. Said the flares got caught on something and ripped off. What a mess. If I were going this direction, I would use nylon screws or some sort of breakaway system.

Re: Warrior fender flare "butt" pictures

Sorry all- I lost two fingers in a motorcycle accident and was out for a long time. The FJ wasn't on my mind. A day before the accident I found out (measured a billion times) that the snorkel sticks out just a touch too much. I would have to trim into the tube, which wasn't something I was willing to do with such expensive flares. I ended up with the bushwhackers recently.

I see that it works with some peoples snorkels so it may be that it varies just enough by where you mound the snorkel. Mine is a touch low IMO, 3/16 prob.
