So Cal sales associates get FJ training next week

I just returned from a local Toyota dealer to see of they had an FJ hiding behind the dealership I could check out. No luck. I also went to check out the $19,444 2006 V8 Tundra Access Cab ad trucks they were selling. They were pretty loaded and had an MSRP of over $26K + a $3k Toyota rebate. That was a great deal for Tundra buyers. He said the initial shipment of FJ's will be arriving in 2 weeks. I did learn that "hands on" FJC training for So Cal sales people is next week (14th I think he said), and he even told me where! For those So Cal members who are dying to see one in person, try swinging by the Irvine Water Park (Raging Rivers? Irvine Center Drive exit) next to the 405 freeway. He claims Toyota Corporate will have numerous FJC models for all sales people to check out and DRIVE! The shorter the wait becomes before the official FJC release, the more anxious I am to see one. He did confirm March 27th (a Monday) as the official release date for FJ sales to begin. All of his dealership initial shipments will be loaded to the gills. That's right, $34-$37K "out the door" sales transactions. OUCH!

Which dealership was this? Longo?

I'm a little frustrated with them at the moment. I'm still with the salesman I got stuck with when I walked in, and he doesn't seem to know that much about the trucks; I'm planning to switch salespeople either now or later (hey, they do it to us, we can do it to them). I still don't know which shipment "my" truck will be in.

That's a lot of coin, but it's basically the vehicle I want, loaded (except for the damned running boards of course). Need to see the bank about a loan, beforehand.

Power Toyota of Cerritos. After speaking with the sales associate, our members know WAY MORE about the new FJ than anyone on the planet besides Toyota Corporate employees. Are you dealing with the Internet department at Longo? They seemed OK when I spoke to them 3 months ago.

I work and live right up the street from that place... do you know what time?
I would try contacting the fleet department first. They seem to be more up front and knowledgable than the front line "sharks" that bite you when you first walk in the dealership.

Re: So Cal sales associates get FJ training next week

My guy alsotold me that next week was the FJ training, but they were supposed to originally get to drive them.....now they will only get to sit and turn knobs. Apparently, salesman are just as bad as everyone else and would thrash these new rides. They are supposed to be sold as Dealer vehicles down the road. Irvine Water Park is the place. So Cal guys.....lets start a regional thread regarding a club.

Sounds great, do it. There should really be a section for "regional clubs", I guess Southwest Forums?
