Probably not going to happen soon. There's a reason why silver generally carries higher resale value than other colors; that it covers up imperfections very well years (and miles) down the road.

That being said... I love the fact that the FJ comes in non-standard colors you can't get on other vehicles. Voodoo Blue, Sun Fusion Yellow, Black Cherry, Sandstorm, Quicksand, Army Green, and the new Magma and Cement hues are all a great part of FJ ownership.

I can't even imagine a screaming color like Voodoo Blue or Sun Fusion on a 4Runner in a Toyota dealer's lot... The soccer moms and salesmen would probably run screaming from that. A Quicksand 4Runner might look pretty slick.

Given the choice and situation you are in I'd vote FJ as well. It is a more fun and unique vehicle. Can be good... can be bad. Depends on the campus and where you live / park / ect.

Now is not the time in your life for a "practical car"....I made it through undergrad and grad school with my 1990 Mustang GT... Would drive home a good many weekends as well. It was fun actually having a 'nice' car in college. Sure it was worth a measly 6 grand or so, but it turned heads...

FJ would be my choice over and over.. and i have 2 kids already. I wouldn`t buy TT though, waste of money in my opinion (No offense to TT owners). Buy as bone stock as possible and build it to your liking

I do not like to MOD vehicles so that is why I would go for TT.

I am curious what you ended up with:
please say an FJ as a college student.

Buy the 4Runner If you look 20 years older than really are. Or, if you are going to mod a T4R Trail edition with Bumpers/sliders/tires/wheels...35K +++++$$$

We have both. wife drives the Trail T4R (had to have the trail edition because of the fender flares alone, OMG ) ...she really utilizes the Crawl control, terrain select, A-Trac, Locker, KDSS and traction control on the way to the grocery store :/ ridiculous package on that vehicle.

I love my FJ, however I choose to drive my modified 3rd gen 4runner 90% of the time.

Money is tight at the moment with school and I was not getting enough for my trade of my car. But I will have one I think the by the end of this year if everything goes according to plan. I got a job and have been saving up like crazy. So I'm still on the fence.
