Well on my way to school on Monday, a guy was stopped in the middle of the road just after a crest to allow another driver to pull into his driveway. The jacka$$ thought it was a good idea to make a phone call and stayed stopped in the road. I come up and over the crest and saw his brake light, which were so dim that they looked like running lights, if that. Once I saw that he was stopped I slammed on my brakes and tried to pull off to the right to avoid hitting him, didn't happen. It was at 6:55 in the morning and raining pretty hard so the roads were wet, but that didn't really play a huge factor in the crash. I was pissed at the guy but since i rear-ended him, it's my fault. And me being a 16 year old kid, the cops didn't completely believe my story. I got a citation for follow too close with a price of $650. Later the state trooper came to my house (small town) and gave me the report for the insurance company. Turns out, he reduced my citation to $250, this made me think that they may have found out he was on the phone. I have a court date set and I am planning on appealing my case. I took some pictures of the FJ up on a friends trailer. We are taking it down to California to have the insurance company take a look at it and figure out a repair cost. According to Oregon law, it is totaled since the frame is bent, but in California, they can fix it. S on the 26th, i will find out what we are going to do. I'm planning on getting another FJ, there is a 2011 Iceburg at my local dealer, it sure looks pretty. Haha. And to FJNewb, sorry, I;m keeping the tires, Americas Tire said they would replace the one messed up one under the road hazard warranty.
Here are some pictures:

That sucks man! I wonder if you or your lawyer can subpoena phone records and erase the ticket, and maybe swing the cause to the other driver. Glad to hear you have another one lined up if you decide to get a new one. I'm not glad to hear that you're not selling those sweet shoes! Man that's a good looking AG too. That demello is toast, but any bumper would have been wrecked in that type if crash. Glad it's only vehicle damage too
