Getting the damn driver side "glove box" out

Im trying to remove the cubby hole over the driver side steering wheel to do the TPMS mod. I took the two screw out but this thing wont budge. I am pulling on the lid upward with it open while trying to pry behind the rear seam over the cubby hole. I dont want to break anything. Is there some trick to get this out or something Im missing? Thanks.

Here's what it says in the Factory Service Manual:

So, two screws, then pry up the rear portion and the front should slip out.

I have a feeling this is one of those "easier said than done" jobs.

I have dismantled just about every part of the FJ interior, and almost all parts are "easier said than done".

That said, I find these invaluable: 6 Piece Panel/Trim Removal Tool Set

Fine line between gentle force and breakage! Mine comes out easier after a few times, glad you got it.

Just an BTW, it's always better to work with plastic in a warm condition. I use a hair dryer sometimes.

I found this out the hard way last winter when i decided to start adding LEDs, one of the first things i did was the mirrors and when taking the mirror off i broke the tabs on the back. Even though it was in my garage, it was still cold from earlier that day. But a little super glue fixed it right up!!
