Re: Thinking about selling my rig :(

Yeah I know I'm going to have to sell my FJ here soon in the next couple months... it stinks putting a buch of mods into a vehicle and then realizing just how much you loose when you have to sell it.

Re: Thinking about selling my rig :(

If you have any of the stock parts I would put them back on and sell the aftermarket parts. It will probably be easer to sell a truck that looks stock than one that is modified. Toyota spent millions researching what would appeal to the general buyer. What you have done is personalized the truck to your taste and liking, it probably wont be the average buyers taste.

When I appraise a car I will deduct value for some mods because of general appeal and things that cause it to fail my state inspection.

Just my opinion your mileage may vary

x2... THAT is how you'll get your 23Gs.

You'll be less than 20 on the truck then a few grand from the Classifieds.

Re: Thinking about selling my rig :(

I live in SE Va. Toyota dealer offered me 22k for my dinged up 07 with 81 k on it! My truck is beat to hell, dents dings scratches, stock bumpers crushed in on all corners. Said they might even do more if I were to trade on something new. Only paid 28k new in aug. of 06. Of course she aint for sale! but what the heck? 22k?

Re: Thinking about selling my rig :(

I'd ask for help from members here to get stock parts.
I helped a friend of mine get his back to stock. Gave him the stock rims and tires, front bumper and stock suspension...He ended up selling it very little loss, because he was able to get cash for his aftermarket parts.

Re: Thinking about selling my rig :(

I hope you sort out your employment situation, but agree with the rest on selling aftermarket parts separately.

I for instance tried to keep myself away from vehicles that were modded because:
1) first thought - this FJ has been abused, otherwise what's the point of lifting, mud tires etc. (boy is this wrong with all the mall crawlers)
2) second thought - not sure if the installer did a good job installing the new parts (OCD)

So keep this in mind too
