Small Enclosed Trailer Recommendations

I apologize if this has been posted, but I didn't find anything when searching. Anyone have a good recommendation for a small enclosed cargo / utility trailer? I'm looking for something to haul my bicycles and gear for triathlons, etc, as well as trips to the north woods of Minnesota, but would prefer something enclosed rather than a typical hitch or roof-mounted bike or cargo carrier. I've towed a small 4x6 enclosed utility trailer behind my 4Runner (Wells Cargo, high-drag non-aero) and it worked fine, but I'd like something a little more aerodynamic and lighter weight. I've looked at Tentrax, but they seem a bit small. Ideally, I'd like a plastic/fiberglass molded trailer that is tall enough to hold a bike, but not so tall that it causes a lot of drag. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Small Enclosed Trailer Recommendations

I had a Wells Cargo trailer in the 6x12 foot size and know what you mean about the aerodynamics or lack of when I pulled it with my 90 4Runner. It was really bad when the wind was blowing.
Wells Cargo has a new MPT - Multi Purpose Trailer that has a drop ramp door and a hinged top that I believe is also removable. They range in sizes from 9'8" to 12'6" overall length by 5'5" to 6'9" wide including fenders and 4'0" to 5'10" high. They are basically a smaller box with the wheel and fender on the outside. The top is hinged at the front and lifts like a tonneau cover on a pickup and the rear is a ramp door that folds down on the large model and swings open like the FJ rear door on the smaller trailers. The brochure has a photo of a Ford Escape with the large trailer and they look to be the same height.
If you want a combo like a toy-hauler, A-liner has one called the SUT that is like a wedge in the front and a box in the rear that has the camp trailer amenities and room for ATV's, bikes, etc.

The Wells Cargo IS the only trailer that I will pull. Perfect balance. Perfect balance and excellent braking. Expensive, but the best.

Trailers by Pulmor - Lightweight High Speed Utility Trailers

The yellow FJ is mine. On the trailer are two mountain bikes and a tandem mountain bike mounted with Yakima crossbars and bike mounts. In the trailer is a lot of camping gear. I do not notice any extra drag or weight when driving!

Nice Rig! How does the plastic top hold up to the weight of the bikes? I'm a bit worried about sag over time, especially in the sun. Concern? Also, what did this thing run? $2K?

I called a dealer and got a price of $1875 if I pick up. Quite a bit more shipped.

Re: Small Enclosed Trailer Recommendations

I think you can get them through Costco for less. It is extremely light as well.

The roof doesn't sag - it has a corrugated shape molded in and the Yakima bars attach near the edges.

Costco has them for $1799 shipped. Not bad. Any other recommendations for good small utility trailers? I like the aerodynamic design of goLittleGuy.com, but the trailers have a little more than what I'd need.
