2013 Trail Teams Edition

Hello All,

I am on the verge of pulling the pin on a 2013 TT and would like some input regarding certain options and what your opinions are of the options, and if it's worth the money OR if it can be had cheaper aftermarket, etc. I am going to list them and their price.

Armrest-Passenger Side $125.00
All Weather Mats & Cargo Mat $200.00
Towing Hitch & Wire Harness $349.00
TRD Cat-Back Exhaust System $550.00

Your thoughts?

Re: 2013 Trail Teams Edition

Depending on how big the passenger is, the arm rest might not work. I'm to tall and it sits to low. Don't know of aftermarket other than a console like the Tuffy.

Don't know about the new version of the mats, but the old ones work great.

I would buy the factory hitch if you are going to get one and do any off roading as it tucks up tighter. If you are going to replace your bumper then some of them come with their own hitch and some can use the factory one. You might be able to get one cheaper through a vendor here and then install yourself. I can get you a good link to the instructions if needed.

I have the TRD exhaust on mine. I don't know if it added any Horsepower or Torque as it was on it when I bought it. It seemed a bit loud at first for awhile, then it mellowed a bit. I like it.

Re: 2013 Trail Teams Edition

If you decide on the factory hitch make sure its the one that actually tucks up into the bumper. Mine was put on by the dealer and is NOT oem toyota. It hangs down and does not tuck up into the bumper like others I have seen. I have seen a few FJs with the same hitch. Should have known better!

Re: 2013 Trail Teams Edition

The new all-weather floor mats are not good. You can get the old ones on here or Weather Tec (I think that's the source) sells better ones.

I put on an aftermarket bumper so I didnt' get the hitch. The Toyota wiring assembly is $150 and contains the module and wiring harness. You need that even if you don't get the hitch. As stated in an above post, make sure it's a Toyota hitch and not an aftermarket one.

The exhaust is nice, but ???? It depends on what you want to do with your rig. I'd rather spend the $$$ on other mods...

Cheers,

dale

Happy Trails!

Re: 2013 Trail Teams Edition

I say don't buy them through the dealer.

Armrest: I paid $70 or $80 bucks on Amazon
Weather Mats: I only need the front ones so I got the Husky liners off Amazon for $80. You can also find these used for cheaper.
Towing Hitch: I found a used one in great shape. A guy gave it to me for free. But you can buy them brand new for around $150.
TRD Exhaust: You can find these for around $400. And they are pretty easy to instal. FJ Cruiser TRD Exhaust. 07-2013

Hope all that helps.
