Finally Saw an FJ at Don McGill in Houston ($36k sticker & bidding war)

Well, I suppose this isn't earth-shattering news since many of you already have your FJ.

But, I finally saw my first FJ yesterday. I drove to Don McGill in Katy to see if they maybe had a few on the lot since they are such a large dealership. Well, they didn't, but they had one that had arrived that morning and was already in the back being prepped.

They took me back and let me look at it. It was silver, and I could look at it but not touch or get in since it was already sold and prepped. I really liked the outside look. I'm still not sure if the spartan/functional interior is what I'm looking for...

My girlfriend said the sticker said $36,000. I think it was pretty loaded, but I'm not sure if there was some mark-up involved in the sticker or not, since I didn't see it.

The salesman did say that they had had a bidding war that morning over the truck between two customers. I have no idea how much they ended up selling it for, but that is crazy to me. I'll look forward to going back and driving one when they get a few and things cool off, but I think the visibility issues are probably going to keep me from seriously considering one at this point for my everyday driver. I spend too much of my time on the interstate in Houston where my visibility is very important to me to drive safely. I would definitely get one if I was just wanting a toy for the deer lease or if I lived out in the country and did more country driving and didn't need to be constantly checking my blind spots, parking, and changing lanes...

Anyway, can't wait to see one of these actually on the road. I still wonder how common they're going to be...

Its crazy right now with what people are willing to pay! Really screwing it up for the rest....Unless I win the lottery I am like you going to step back and take a wait and see attitude. As far as the visibility issue goes wait tell you can actually drive it before you get overly concerned.I didn't see it to be as much of a prob as everyone has been reporting but that just me! I always have relied more on mirrors while driving any way. Off road may be a different issue.I have yet to here any reports yet.One thing I will pass on is that it was very impressive to drive! Much more than I expected
