Question Impulse or planned?

Was your FJ purchase planned or was it an impulse buy? I kept seeing this awesome truck on the road. Finally figured out it was an FJ and wanted one. I went to get the oil changed in my '05 RAV last Saturday. Yeah, right. Came home with my FJ, totally unplanned.

Re: Impulse or planned?

Went to the dealer to check them out to see if I would like it for a company truck....Drove home with it. I guess that would fall under impulse.

Re: Impulse or planned?

I was lurking on the forum for a couple of months. I test drove one in November and bought mine in December when I found my TRD/SE. Mine was planned and I already had cash in hand no financing for me.

Re: Impulse or planned?

planned. i had been following it since it was a concept. had my truck for sale once and was going to get a new (new at the time) 06 tacoma double cab 4x4 trd, etc... and decided to keep my truck. had more problems with my 05 silverado so i put it back up for sale, went for the tacoma, and saw the FJ and had to have it, my sister in laws father has a yellow one. ordered a FJ same as mine from my local dealer, didnt come in and i sold my truck, so i headed down to elk grove toyota and came home with the exact one i wanted.

Re: Impulse or planned?

For that reason, I'm not allowed within 100 miles of a car lot for 10 years. Or so says my husband. I'm not too good with the impulse control.

Re: Impulse or planned?

Check out my Thread, Went for an oil change, came back with an F J. I had been planning on getting an F J sooner or later, well it became sooner. My wife came home on Fri 12/15/06 and said "The Toyota dealer has a blue F J on the lot"! I told her "don't do this to me"! We took her P T Cruiser next door for an oil change, and while we were waiting we walked across the street to the Toyota dealer. Well the rest is history. It was just a matter of time!

Re: Impulse or planned?

I saw it when some girl I was dating said "That is the ugliest truck I have ever seen". I said "Oh my".

Two days later I had her. One month later I dropped the other "her". Love me, you gotta love my FJ
