Snow

Who's been stuck in it? Come on now tell the truth!

Last week I had my FJ on an unimproved mountain road, that's usually only passable during the winter months on snowmobiles. In fact, the local mountain-folk snowmobilers looked at me like I was nuts when they saw me. "What is that, anyway?" "That's a Toyota!" "That's perty nice!"

Fantastic fun!

Some of the grades were around 30 degrees. The snow was packed about 10to 12 inches deep. I never needed A-trac or diff-lock until I turned off into a field that was fresh. I started to belly out but used the A-trac. Got me going with very little effort. The Revos did a great job, also. Low range the whole 14 miles kept her in control.

So has anyone been stuck in snow. Come on... tell... please!

Re: Snow

I got mine stuck in a 4' drift across an unimproved dirt road while towing my snowmobile trailer and two sleds just yesterday....I was taking the sleds out to scout some trails for the FJ in spring! The trailer was the problem, so I unloaded the sleds, and did the Forward-Reverse thing a few times in 4h, and it pulled right through....those Hankooks are just AWESOME tires!

No don't worry i will be sticking to the roads, i don't have anybody to pull me out! Though it would be nice to take some pictures and throw some snowballs... not a hardcore off-roader yet

Re: Snow

the weekend of 19th-21st I went to Schweitzer (ski resort in Northern Idaho) with an 8.8 mile 2 lane road going up the mountain with hairpins and switch backs. There was a lot of snow on the road, the FJ cruised up it at 30 mph without a problem..... Actually there was a problem.... Some twit on a cell phone as right behind me that whole way up, and she was driving one of those cross road Volvo wagons.... Damn those people who drive in it all the time. I couldn't lose her, and I tried!!!!!!!

Hello chewey46 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?
