Direct hit

I tagged a well sized bird on US 101 the other day right in the windsheild. It was like slow motion all the way till contact and all I thought about was all the horror stories with these things then THUNK! Luckely no crack but jeeze it sounded like a friggin baseball hit it. Lucky me I guess. Better a windsheild then a fj like some people I've seen dodging small animals.

Re: Direct hit

I am up to three birds and a deer. 1 bird I got with the driver side mirror. I am going to need a hunting permit.

I once got a "triple" with a work truck back in the late 70's. 3 Pheasants flew up simutaneosly from the side of the road (2 ****s and a hen, must have been having a roadside orgy) and all 3 flew right across the road at windshield height, tagged 2 directly and the 3rd hit the mirror (and was wounded, broken wing) We took them home that evening and ate em! Mmmmm!

Re: Direct hit

I cut something in half with my antenna once. (quail, dove, pigeon, whatever)

Nothing but bloody feathers on the mast when I got where I was headed.

I couldn't help but LMAO, behind me was nothing but feathers, looked like a cartoon.
