So my family and I were having dinner in Salt Lake City with her family to celibrate her mom's birthday. I guess some nut job walked in with a shot gun and started shooting all over the place. 6 killed for no apparant reason. We all made it out the back fire escape ok and none of my boys saw or heard anything to cause them any trauma (I hope). The oldes is only 7 and the youngest isn't quite 1. I think the older ones did hear the shots.
Thanks heavens we are all ok and everyone is sleeping soundly in their beds. For some reason, I am not sleepy.
The FJ (and the mini van) got the raw end of the deal. They are still blocked off in the parking lot which is part of the crime scene. What's happening to my town?
Wow that is amazing that you made it out not only alive, but safe. It is good to hear.
The adrenaline will do that to you. It is amazing what the body can do to the mind and mindset when you know the ones you love are in danger. It is only natural to come off the rush and finally realize what happened. Hopefully this puts things into perspective for you and you are one of the few that realizes we must cherish what we love in this world cause any moment could be our last.

That incident made national news. Glad to hear you and your family made it out safe.
It's a small sick world we live in. I'm glad your family is well. The reality usually doesn't set in until the adrenaline wears off. I saw it on the AOL home page this morning.

Flashback: Sort of brought back memories of the sniper shootings we had a few years ago over in Maryland and Virginia. It was pretty sad, you had to really keep your guard up when entering/leaving a store; or while pumping gas for the fear of being shot; I remember my son's high school soccer games being cancelled. It was tough.
Sounds like you guys were TOO CLOSE for comfort. Kids are a very perceptive...Keep a close eye on them its amazing how things will affect them down the road.
