My cargo storage solution

I decided to go with a Pelican case to store my tools and recovery gear in. It measures 38" x 16" x 6", has 4 latches, a place for 2 locks, a little set of wheels, a nice carry handle and it's water resistant. I just got it in, loaded it up and strapped it in. It stands up perfectly behind the seat on the little ridge there.

Here's some pics.

Oh and if ayone is interested I sell these for $145.

Re: My cargo storage solution

I don't know about the rattle yet. It's packed pretty tight though. Can't see where it would be much worse than the stray tools bouncing around in the back of my Durango. I'll find out tonight for sure.

Beucati figure $10. for freight down to you.

Re: My cargo storage solution

I am a big fan of Pelican.. I use their cases to carry gear internationally and even the airlines cannot harm these cases.

I have been thinking about a pelican solution for the storage question of the FJ and you seem to have hit on an excellent solution. What model pelican is that exactly?

Re: My cargo storage solution

Big, hairy, white German Shepard. Just turned 300,000 miles on his odometer. He LOVES to travel. : )

It's a Pelican 1700. I got lucky on it actually. Planned on laying it flat. Didn't realize until I had it in hand that I could stand it up.

Re: My cargo storage solution

I've used Pelicans in my whitewater kayaking adventures...never had a drop enter the box to destroy my camera...very sweet cases. I hadn't really thought about them for the back of the FJ...may have to see if there is a different model that might work better for what I want to do. Thanks for the heads up, though!

Re: My cargo storage solution

Nice setup - is there a deeper case? I have more stuff than will fit in the case pictured.
