you can mount it on the roof, but the back of the fjc is not so good looking.
the wiper arm is about 6 feet long.
am i the only one that has seen this?

I am not saying dont do this.
I think I will.
its just a little diff looking on the backside without the spare back there to cover everything up.
Yea...I havent taken the spare off yet , but I can imagine its gonna look kinda wierd.
Im going to get larger tires in a few weeks , dont know if I want the spare hanging off the tailgate . Was looking for a few pics or ideas owners came up with.

The tailgate can handle the weight of any tires that fit the FJs. I remember seeing tires mounted on roof racks but it was always a second spare rather than the primary spare. Agreed, the ass end looks goofy w/o the spare. Butt ugly.

Um, not trying to be a poor sport, but whats the point? I can understand if the tire was to large to mount on the tailgate (like a 37") , or a second spare, but if were talking about stock, or a 33" i would think this would be more of a pain than its worth. Thats quite a bit of weight (not to meantion akward) to have to lift above your head. Then like everyone already said, there the ugly wiper arm that gets exposed.
