Ammo cans

Where would you find one? I'm thinking about the toolbox-under-the-hood project.

I've acquirred several off of ebay for cheap. I use them, strangely enough, for storing ammo!

For tools in a truck, I hate when they rattle and beat eachother up. I pack them in a tool bag. Any extra space in the bag gets packed with other crap like soft items in stuff sacks. Whatever I'm carrying, I strap it down hard. I want to hear my tires and my engine, not my cargo.

yeah, any Surplus store worth their salt will have a whole bin full of 'em. Usually start around $5 for a 50mm box. 30Cal boxes are skinnier but about same height/length.

I got one of these for Xmas and it looks about the same size as an ammo box but without all the rattle, rust, weight.

Military Surplus, Ebay, etc...they all work.

Cheaper than Dirt is a great place to get that stuff too! Cheaper Than Dirt - America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter

Sometimes you can get nice refurbished units that have new seals and nice new paint.

I think Brigade Quartermaster is another place to find them online.

Who needs a 50cal ammo can I have a gun shoot on Fri? I teach a helo weapons class and we go through 1000s of rounds. Let me know........

Got access to hundreds of them, If anyone in Hawaii wants em talk to me. Usually just throw them away. Cant wait to see the project, mabey I'll do the same
