Not that it even matters...but WOW...you have to read some of these posted reviews. A lot of them stating the FJ is not a true offroader...WTF...well I'm not a true offroader either...rarely do I take mine "offroading"... but I tell you what, the few times that I have... it sure does things I never expected and I've owned a lot of different vehicles. For crying out loud we're talking about a stock vehicle performing excellent both on and off road for under $30k! What is it suppose to be able to do...climb frigg'n mountains...most of these folks would not be able to tell you the difference between a conifer or deciduous tree. I started out looking for an AWD vehicle that could tow a 4400lb camper...I didn't want a pick-up. I ended up with much more than I was looking for...for a lot less money then I was willing to pay! Now I have a vehicle that I'm very fond of...I really like this truck...not only can it tow 5,000lbs, It's a true 4x4 with a locking differential and can go where ever I could possibly want to go and it's a beast in the snow... with the right tires. No offense Jeep owners...I've driven and rode in Jeeps...no way do you have the highway comfort, no way to you have the towing capacity and it's as good as a Jeep "in most" off road conditions . What other vehicle are they trying to compare it too when they state "not a true offroader"? Sure sounds like these "user reviews" are a bunch of BS or folks that shouldn't have been looking at this type of vehicle in the first place...my god they're saying..."I went with the Honda Element"...WTF...nice comparison. It's like saying "I looked at the BMW 330i but I went with the Saturn Aura"...WTF...
I know, I know, I'm preaching to the choir...
Hey...I felt like ranting. Some people are really stupid...I mean stupid...
Hey...did yours come with floor mats? WTF...did you get 0% financing with a $5,000 rebate...WTF.

Am I the only one that realizes 80% of those post's are by Jeep and Hummer drivers? The insecurity in their own vehicle show's in those post's. If you read through the post's the bashing is about off-roading. Anyone sense the connection?

My sentiments exactly...I just didn't want to "rattle" the "Jeepsters"...
Start a big peeing contest...

Feeling a bit guilty after reading this. Guy in my building caught me at the coffee shop and wanted to talk about the FJ. (Amazing he remembered I drove it since the wife has assumed command of the FJ and I rarely get to take it to work.)
At any rate he's considering an Element. I urged him to test drive an FJ pushing all it's great qualities. He isn't interested in leather, heated seats or carpet. Sounded like an FJ prospect to me.
The majority of posters there don't even own an fj. I put up a post but they removed it in a couple of days. I reposted but they took it down. If you visit there much you will find that they remove most of the good reviews. Its like they don't want the fj to have a good rep. I agree with the above, bunch of nervous jeep and H2 folks.

My wife is now advising people not to get the FJ. If you are looking for a soccer mom/dad vehicle, the FJ isn't it. She thinks it is a total waste if the FJ doesn't get to see gravel, mud, or snow.

What about pulling 5,000lbs? What about going camping?...I don't mean setting up the camper on a cement slab...What about heavy rain, flooding? What about going for a picturesque drive on some dirt track roads? Let's not even bring up the quality factor for the price. Wouldn't her statement hold true for anyone who buys an SUV/SAV? Why is this the biggest market share? We just happen to have a few more offroad features than a "Sonata"

There are better vehicle for these. How about the 4Runner. It can tow over 7,000lbs. Its got 4 wheel drive for city driving in the elements. It is a true 4 door for the soccer trips. It has the same Toyota quaility.
What sets the FJ apart is its shorter wheelbase, better departure angles, better offroad capabilities. To really appreciate the FJ, you got to play in the dirt.
