What the #@!$ is Wrong With People?!?

OKay, so last night I take my finacee to the ER - she was having a hard time breathing and she was admitted with a bad case of pneumonia. My FJ parked in the structure the whole time - 24 hours and 10 minutes to be exact.

As I get to my truck I casually notice another FJ, a black one, sparkling in comparison to my mud-stained one, parked two stalls away (parked like an a-hole, btw - backwards and taking up part of the lane as well as the spot)...I get into my FJ and start her up...

Check Engine Light, VSC Trac, VSC Off, Squiggly Line Car Icon - all come on and stay on. I turn her off, turn her on...same thing. I get home and check on here about what the problem might be and time and again read about non-locked gas caps. I think "That can't be it cuz I haven't touched the gas cap in four days and no problems before." But I venture a try and go check...yeah my gas cap wasn't locked in place cuz IT WAS EFFING STOLEN! What the feck?!? I Mean come on!

I just hope they didn't pour anything into my tank while they were at it. As if I don't have enough crap on my plate - missing work for three days now, sleeping on a chair in the hospital with my love poked and prodded and all kinds of IVs hanging from her and now this...Hey If You Happen to Be the Guy with the FJ at Glendale Adventist Hospital...nice ride, take her offroad...and if you happened to also swipe my gas cap - FAWK YOU...I'll be there tomorrow and the next day and hope to BUMP into you!

Sorry...I'm just tired, hungry and bitter...I guess there was one good thing...because I happened to be at the hospital for exactly 24 hours and fifteen minutes and the dumbarse parking kid was too busy talking on his cell phone, he didn't see the date and charged me 20 bucks too little for parking, thinking I'd been there fifteen minutes total...hope it pays for the cap.

BTW...will any toyota cap work?

Thanks for letting me rant.

Did you have the locking stant cap?

The day I got my FJ my dad wouldn't let me drive it until I got a locking cap and locks for the spare. I keep the OEM in the compartment where the jack is just in case.

Sorry to hear about your finacee, hope she gets well soon, as for your gas cap some people have nothing better to do and don't respect other people property. I will get the factory replacement for the FJ , other toyota gas caps may work but will probably not seal properly and still cause the check engine light. Wish you guys the best of luck.

sorry about your ordeal.... that sucks. Are people's spares getting stolen often? Anyone know if my old Tacoma wheel locks would work on the FJ before I even bother?

I would think they should. The rims and after market lug nuts I'm using came off my 01 tacoma.

Sorry to hear. My FJ was about a month old and when I came out of work there was a 7-eleven drink cup on the center of my hood. . My co-works said there was 4 Land Rovers that looked like they just came from off-roading parked next to mine looking at it earlier that day. No idea what the cup was suppose to mean.

First let me say I'm sorry to hear about your fiance's resp. infection. It is VERY important that she walks as soon as possible to keep fluids from pooling and leading to pleural effusion- keep her head up on pillows as much as possible. I would also recomend that she uses incentive spirometry (The plastic thing they hopefully gave you at the hospital, if not, call MD for one. She's to suck on it not blow-no sexual content meant.) She should use this every hour when awake times ten repititions. This is THE BEST therapy next to antibio's for pneumonia. Keep an eye on her temp-tylenol with cool cloths on forehead and ankles to control the fever. Clear liquids are fine, and progress thru full liquids then bland to full diet as she tollerates. It's important she has good nutrition for healing and energy to ambulate. Ok, enough of that-RE the A-hole who stole your cap-fuk him AND his horse. Put it behind you and get a locking cap. You have more important things to worry about-like your woman. I hope I helped. Timbo2

People suck brother. I just had some of my tools stolen off a job site. The house was locked and the last ones in the house were the painters South of the freakin' border help. As for your fiance it must be a bad month for fiance's. Mine has been home for three weeks due to an injured achilles tendon. Hope she gets better soon.

Woah! I feel like I just watched the entire first season of ER. I actually feel smarter! You definitely know your stuff.

And about your lady and your FJ. Hope she gets better. Now go get yourself a locking gas cap. And if you see that guys FJ again, put a note inside his fuel bay, that says "I know what you did", so the next time he fills up... he will feel like he is in a movie. And if that guy had nothing to do with it, it will be a good laugh.
