FJ Playin in the snow(pics)

Took off Friday afternoon for the Sierras, just made it over Donner Pass before they closed it. The FJ did great in the snow. At the second chain control a CalTrans worker was quoted as saying...while pointing at the FJ..."WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?????? "

Playin in 8" of fresh snow. Tried out all 3 different systems, regular, A-Trac and rear locker. A-trac supplied the best traction in the snow. Not a real scientific test, but hey it was fun!!!

After the "snow test" headed down into Carson Valley to do some muddin and hill climbing. Once again the FJ handled the mud as well as can be expected with just the stock tires. (no mud pix, however it was really wet and slippery with the mud and ice and the FJ was impressive) Still countin the days til the MT's are on.

We did run across a few hungry vultures waitin for a meal, however since the FJ was handling the trails so well we had to disappoint them. No free meal from us but maybe a "Heep" will come by soon and they'll have an easy meal.

Sweet pics and my favorite FJ color. We're outta snow here in the East so when my FJ arrives, I'll have to wait 'til next winter to do snow doughnuts.

Have fun and git 'er dirty!

Awesome pictures! How did the wipers fare? They look iced in the picture. Any problems with visibility?

Can't wait to play in snow... I'll probably be the only one in town hoping for the blizzard....

Yeah, the wipers did ice up a little, but I kept the defrost on high heat and it pretty much solved the problem. Rear and side window were fine with visability, the headlights did pose a problem as they became approximately 50% covered with snow and lost some visibilty there....however at this point driving was pretty much in blizzard conditions.
