Tall Guys, How Is It?

The one time I drove an FJC it seemed fine (I am 6'-4"), but the other day I went to the dealer and just sat in one for a few minutes. Only my butt and my feet touched. It felt sort of uncomfortable within about 10 minutes.

That was with the seat in the highest position and all the way back (not much room left for any back seat passengers). So, how is it for any of you tall owners?

Andrew

Re: Tall Guys, How Is It?

I am 6'2" and find it a comfortable ride. I also sat in the back seat with the front seat back. It gets pretty tight, but I figure I will never sit in the back seat. My wife rode behind me, she's 5'6" and was fine.

Re: Tall Guys, How Is It?

I'm 6' even and so far so good...matter of fact I adjusted the seat height and cushion tilt in conjunction with the mirrors today (finally had a moment of down time) and I still have plenty of leg room. Probably not much room in the back seat behind me though. My only complaint with respect to comfort is the clutch sits quite a bit higher than I'm used to...used to being able to just rotate ankle to left and depressing...now I have to lift my leg up from a resting position to depress the clutch (yeah I know, life is tough). Comfy on long trips and even in traffic so far.

Re: Tall Guys, How Is It?

My husband is 6'7" and felt like he had more room than his Range Rover. He didn't drive it, but did sit in it for a while since fitting vehicles for him can be a challenge. I think it's the first vehicle I've been in where I still had room to put the seat back. Even in my Tundra I've got the seat all the way back and I'm 5'10"...

Re: Tall Guys, How Is It?

I thought you were done with us arturo? It's ok, we understand.

I'm your height daddyo and I'm enjoying the ride. The test for me is whether my knee caps touch the steering column when I bring my legs together. With the seat jacked all the way down and slid all the way back, my knees don't touch the column. And in this config. my 5'7" wife says should could sit behind me for the 5 hour cruise to our river place. gotta love that woman.
Headroom is not a problem at all, except I don't like how close the hand grab is to my head. I've been thinking about cutting it down about an inch. And the rear seat needs hand grabs too.
For the record, the best leg room I've had in a Toyota is in my '93 SR5 pickup truck. Miles of leg room, right Rooster? Rooster?

I'm 6'3" and super happy with both leg room and head room. I like to sit a bit closer to the wheel than many my size. I also have been riding with the drivers seat in its highest position and loving the view. I even find the back seat pretty comfortable when my 6'1" son drives.

Re: Tall Guys, How Is It?

I'm 6' 3" and very pleased with the room inside. The passenger behind me (usually my 9 year old) doesn't complain. But then again he thnks the FJ is too cool, so he wouldn't complain.

Re: Tall Guys, How Is It?

I'm 6' 6". Love it. Probably the most comfortable car or truck I've ever driven.

The armrest could be improved. Otherwise, I'd say it's just 'bout perfect from a comfort standpoint.

Re: Tall Guys, How Is It?

6'4" here and couldn't be happier. Seat all the way back gives an enormous amount of room. And I still have like 5 inches of headroom...i like it a lot. The ****pit is very spacious.
