Handling your dealer...

Hello all, I'm a young guy and this will be my first new car purchase. I put my refundable $500.00 down on a 4x4 Auto with CNV and UP1 January 5th and I'm still waiting on delviery (my dealers forst round as the wrong color). Anyway I'm getting a bit of a run around and the last few call has been "its soo rare" and "there are no black in your state" or my favorite "these will be collectors cars." Anyway my goal is to get my FJ and not get screwed in the process. I'm told I'll have a VIN tommorrow. I need to finance. I'm looking for advice. I'm not going MSRP. Do I have any leverage having placed the order or can they sell it out from under me? Should I get seperate finacing in place?
I've read most ofthe edmunds site. Most stuf doesnt seem to apply as its an in demand vehicle versus anythign with rebates or price incentives.

Thanks,
Vincent

not going MSRP? what does that mean? if you're going higher than MSRP you're getting screwed. so what exactly are you asking? how to take it deeper? if you plan on going under MSRP - aint gonna happen my friend. not for a little while anyway. if you want it now you gotta pay the admission fee and bend over - but over MSRP is taking it to the colon.

Re: Handling your dealer...

well as soon as they said collectors car it's time to run away with your cash.what state are you in?sounds like a bunch of crap,i'd look around via web for another dealer that can get you what you want.getting a auto 4x4 with upgrade 1 in black is not very hard to find.you may have to settle for upgrade 2,only 60 bucks more.there are more dealers out there selling for msrp than there are getting more than sticker.go to your bank/credit union and get prefinanced so you know what other lenders are charging.
