FJ Cruiser rims question...

Hi Guys,
do rims from any other Toyota fit the FJ Cruiser? Tacoma maybe? Also, what rims come as standard (ie no extra cost)? I would like to find a set of 16"ers for my studded siped snow tires, then run 17"ers in the summer.

Thanks,

Paul.

Re: FJ Cruiser rims question...

The .pdf file I have lists the rims as 17x17 1/2J, PCD 5.5". Does that help?

Not sure how much you want to spend but at $137.50 per wheel the TRD 16" wheels are a pretty good price for an alloy. www.trdsource.com

An inexpensive option would be steel wheels which run about $50 per, but I'm not sure which after market would work.

Re: FJ Cruiser rims question...

Thanks Granger! Maybe I'll order it with those on then buy some aftermarket rims for the summer. (I want 2 sets so I can swap them out myself) I'm not too worried about cost- just trying to figure how much I'd save by ordering it with 16s vs. 17s. If I can find out if other rims will fit, I'll just order it with 17s then buy some used 16s on Ebay- hence my original question.

Cheers,

Paul.

Re: FJ Cruiser rims question...

I wonder if we can put the 16" TRD offroad package rims like are on the Tacoma? I think they look great.

Paul,

If you order the TRD rims with the FJC they come with BFG AT KOs at a cost of $1,599 (5 Wheels and Tires). If you have it port installed (meaning the FJ comes with the wheels) then they do not give you your old rims. (Alloys if you got the Upgrade package, steel wheels if not). You may find that it is cheaper to buy the TRD Wheels after the fact either through your dealer (rims only) or through TRD Source and get whatever tires you want on them. By doing that you would still have whatever 17" wheels came with your FJ to use for summer driving.

If so many of the FJ's are showing up on the lot with TRD wheels port installed, where do all the allow wheels go?

according to the build your FJ websight the 17" alloys cost you 650$ when added to a base vehice. Meaning they are worth 650$ more than steel wheels. The 17" alloys are also include in upgrade package 1.

The 16" TRD wheels cost you 1899$ regardless if the FJ was equiped with steel wheels or not.

So my conclusion is that the 16" TRD are a major rip off.

Most FJ's are showing up with upgrade package 1 with the 17" alloys, and if you or the dealer upgrades to the 16" TRD's the 17" alloys disapear even though you have paid for them in package 1.

Basically have paid 2549$ for TRD wheels and tires.

They sure look better than the 17 inchers though
