Help with radio

hey guys, im new here and we are going to install an aftermarket amplifier in my friend's FJ cruiser, I was wondering if any of you guys had taken the dash appart or have any tips on how to remove the plastic cover ( the part that is the same color as the outside of the truck, because i figured that once this is out the radio is easy to remove. Second thing, does anyone know which wires are which in the radio connector , he has the base package.

Check out www.trdsource.com - find the FJ and then look at the instructiosn associated with the XM Radio install. Might not have everything you want but will get you started.

If you dont know, is it smart for you to be monkeying around with it? pay the $50 and have a pro do it.

i can figure out which one it is, it would just save me some time if someone already knew them!
