Re: Poll: Auto Trans vs Manual

Selected the automatic:
Nicer for daily driving in traffic
Better gas mileage
Limited use off road
Did not want full time 4x4
That about covers it -

Re: Poll: Auto Trans vs Manual

if the FJC came with only a stick there'd be less hummerwannabedouches driving them.

because hummer owners are too stupid to work a clutch.

Re: Poll: Auto Trans vs Manual

I wanted part time 4wd t-case so went with Auto. Out of dozen 4x4s I've owned this is my 3rd Auto. Manual vs Auto depends on preference plus type of on & off road wheeling one does. For sheer durability & hard core wheeling I would say manual wins

Re: Poll: Auto Trans vs Manual

My wifes MCS is a 6-speed, so I get to shift on a regular basis. My Discovery was a stick, whereas my Range Rover was an auto- I prefer suvs with the auto. I also decided to go with the AT because it is better in city driving, plus cruise control is better suited to an auto. I do wish it were an awd system though!

Cheers,

Paul.

Re: Poll: Auto Trans vs Manual

I actually prefer manual but tend to be hard on clutches and didn't want the expense of replacement a few years down the road so went for AT, which isn't as capable offroad, or as much fun to drive, but hopefully will serve me better in the long run....and no, I can't change my driving habits
