The bad thing about a TRD Special Edition

The question is to MOD or not to MOD, that is the question?
I kind of wish I would have bought the regular Black Diamond FJ. Here is my way of thinking, I need some help guys. With the TRD edition, there is only 3,200 made, this makes the vehicle in stock form retain a very high price in the future as a collectable. But, I bought the vehicle for off road use and to drive back and forth to work which is about 500 miles each way. My wife loves the black roof not the white one. I want to add all kind of MOD’s but, I am treading in uncertain territory. Man, I want to install a long travel 6” lift, Warn winch and Road Armor bumper, 35” Nitto tires & wheels, lower gearing, ARB Snorkel (when it comes out) along with a Super Charger, TRD CAI, S.S. brake lines, etc. I’m just trying to figure out which way to go. Sorry for the rant, but looking at all the nice rides on this great forum with the cool MOD’s are driving me crazy!. I have been following the FJ for years since it was shown at SEMA, I had an image in my mind of what I thought would be a great off road vehicle, especially; with the wide stance the vehicle has. I read everything I could get my hands on, watched all the off road reviews during its testing. The first time I saw the Peterson’s Off Road Green FJ, I thought someone made my vehicle that I had in mind. (Except for that color Green) Man, it really makes it tuff. but again I bought the vehicle to keep till it falls apart, which means in Toyota years is (40 –60 years) It’s like dog years Damn, I think I just talked myself into going all the way, you guys are great, I just had a conversation with my self and answered my own question. What a great forum! Now it’s going to cost me a fortune!

I say go for the upgrades if you want them and can afford them.

i say leave it alone, they are a bad ass car to being with, and with you having the first year trd FJ and TRD model, it might be something to think about.

I know, now I'm thinking maybe down the line, maybe by a used stock FJ, then customize it for just offroading. mmmm, maybe this might be a better way to go...I do have my 85 Toyota pickup to play with, it's the last year for the soild axle, before Toyota went to the IFS setup on their vehicles. Damn, thinking about this drives me crazy...

I say you donate the money to me so I can put all those wonderful things on to my car. And in return I'll take pictures every week and send them to you

Don't let this stop you from doing the MOD'S that you want. Toyota will have a TRD edition every year. I'm sure you will be flamed for this post by all of the Black roof haters, but it was your money and your preferece on roof color.

Thanks for the support, I would like to see how many SE owners out there have done any MOD's to their's? I guess I'm just ranting, please excuse the rant.

I currently have added a Gobi ladder and a Rough Country 3" lift and changed the rock sliders to Trail Gear's. This is just the start of bigger things to come.

I know there are a couple of more TRD's that have been lifted.
